Per rimuovere i cumuli di ghiaccio sulla superficie lontano dai bordi, il canale di scarico può essere ruotato in modo da permettere la fresatura nella parte anteriore. In questa posizione, il canale funge da protezione perchè copre lateralmente la fresa.
