WM technics strives for excellence not only in their ice resurfacers, tractors, or tool carriers but also for those they support, ensuring they can pursue their passions under top conditions. This includes the para or sledge ice hockey team of Kalterer SV.

Sledge ice hockey is a variant of ice hockey with one significant difference: players move not on ice skates, but on the blades of sledges they sit in. Players maneuver across the ice using two short, spiked sticks for puck handling and propulsion.

Para ice hockey team competes in the Austrian national championship

For many years, WM technics has supported the Kalterer “Young Pikes”, para ice hockey branch, the youth division of KSV. “Thanks to the generous support from WM technics, our young players were equipped with high-quality gear this year, paving the way for their participation in the Austrian national championship this season,” said Alex Kofler, president of KSV.

The team started the season well-prepared, facing a tough challenge right at the start: they played against none other than the reigning champions, Klagenfurter AC. Despite a strong showing, KAC secured victories with scores of 8:1 and 4:2.

Debut of young talents

This was in spite of impressive debuts from young players David Ambach (born 2003), Samuel Weihprachtitzky (born 2011), and David Weihprachtitzky (born 2012), who performed admirably on the ice and kept Klagenfurt on their toes throughout the games.

The season continues with five more weekends of matches, including away games in Graz and Klagenfurt, where the “Pikes” will showcase their skills.
