Superior steering thanks to double articulated joint.
Extremes are no problem for Vitrac: Due to the double articulated joint, the tool carrier can reach a steering angle of approximately 82° without becoming unstable.
This is due to the central positioning of the central joint, whereby the axis of rotation – even when steered – runs parallel to the vehicle’s longitudinal axis. Even the smallest steering movements can be executed with extreme precision via the steering wheel.
Thanks to track-accurate steering, Vitrac can enter the next row directly at a row spacing of only 1.30 m (4 ft 3 in) without having to maneuver multiple times. Only the front passage needs to be considered, as the rear does not swing out.
Vitrac’s front section is perfectly balanced, as the internal combustion engine and the hydraulic components are laid out centrally, with the driver’s weight positioned above the center of the wheel. The back section of the truck is also balanced, as the sprayer is located above the center of the wheel. The entire machine is, therefore, in perfect equilibrium with barely any pressure on the central joint.
Vitrac combines maximum stability with lightness. The intricate structure of the high-tensile steel frame is both lightweight and stable. The underside is armored with front and rear steel panels to prevent damage from collision. The central joint also guarantees perfect ground adjustment.
To protect the soil’s sensitive biological activity, the weight of the tool carrier has been reduced to 875 kg (1,929 lbs), while optional tires with widths up to 30 cm (11.8 in) ensure low ground pressure. The symmetrical design of the frame and steering ensures precise wheel tracking even when cornering. This reduces stress on the drivetrain and ensures long-term soil protection.
